Another Cup of Real-I-Tea

1 min readDec 30, 2017

still feels dreamlike
this state of exhaustion
perhaps still fully arriving

half sleep only
hours more required
unable to meet sleep
in this moment

rather quietly dress
turn on the lamp
in the living room of the rented flat
and pop the kettle on for some tea

waiting for the sun to rise
for the day to start
for it to be real
this morning still feels like night

like a dream
as if waking could transport
somewhere else entirely

living into the dream
feeling the waking body
stretching into aliveness

hearing new sounds
the ticking clock
heater hum
bubble of the boiling water

Good morning, Edinburgh!
time for another cup of tea
